proposal ideas...

most of you know that I'm head over heals in love with my girlfriend. and for those of you that don't know, I'm head over heals in love with my girlfriend.

I plan on asking her to marry me, not any time soon mind you but I do plan on asking her some day. theres just too much crap going on with my ex right now for me to ask her the way she should be asked (divorce, custody battle, threats from my ex, etc...) but for the past month or so I've been going over the way I'll propose to her.

so now I would like to know what ideas you all have for proposals. how would you propose to the girl you want to marry? and ladies, how would you like the man you love to propose to you?

my proposal is a long way away but it is comming... I'd like to hear what you all think would be the perfect proposal...

I have always been a fan of the whole message on the sports board at a big game. That is if you are into sports.

this is how i did it:
she knew i was gonna ask eventually and i knew she wouldnt say no, so the biggest trick was to make it a surprise. we bought the ring together already so that wouldnt be an issue.

i took her to one of the 2 REALLY nice restaurants about a month earlier to throw her off a bit.

set a reservation and talked to the manager a bit at the other restaurant about a week in advance. ordered candy rose bouqet and dropped it off the day before.

"coincidentally" it also happened to be her birthday. so i gave her a whole buncha stuff, even a set of birthstone jewelry before dinner. went to the restaurant, had a nice meal. waiter went off to get the dessert tray and i went to the bathroom. waiter brought back the candy bouqet. while she was reading the puzzling little card that i put in it, i snuck up behind her, got on one knee, and popped the question.

one thing PP, please please please ask your jeweler where their diamonds (if you're getting her a diamond engagement and wedding rings) come from! i just did a report about the conflict diamonds from Sierra Leone, Africa.

other than that, i would definitely try to surprise her. gmo has asked me to marry him everyday since we got together. no ring yet, he just keeps asking. but i know he's planning something.

there is no local zoo where I live, in fact the next nearest city is a 2 hour drive away.

take her to a local concert (prefrebly a band she likes).. and slip the singer 20 bucks to make an anouncement.. (ive seen this happen b4, it was actually fairly cool.. the entire show stopped, and the singer called up both people, spotlite went on them, he proposed, she cried, music started back up) :ups:

Damn, could you imagine if she said no? :lol: ...That'd suck.

Personally I'm old fashion myself. Whenever I find a woman that I love, and want to marry, heres all i'm going to do:

Tell her how I feel about her, how wonderful I think she is, How I need her in my life, How I want to spend the rest of my life with her, how I want us to have children together...How I want to go through every moment with her-Good and Bad Moments, and then I'll get on my knee and propose to her...
I'm not really sure where I would want to do it, but I'd definitely want to propose my love infront of a group (just because i'd like to)...
I've thought about good ways to propose, but like I said I'm old fashion, and personally I can't get into advertising my love for her at a sports game (I really don't like to many sports, and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't either)...Or at any concert (I don't listen to much music...). That's really the only way I could picture myself doing it, and feeling right about it.

I heard of a (slightly cruel) interesting way someone did it... they took their gf to his parents place for tea, and during the meal, he asked her if she liked his family. She couldn't really say no, cuz they were all there... then he asked if she wanted to be a part of that family :) hehe no way she could really say no to that! lol
