not trying to convert anyone here, but i was reading the Quran and i came accross this verse that is pretty neat.. just thought i would share it with everyone. Just so everyone knows, muslims worship the same god as christians and jews, but we dont subscribe partners with him (i.e. jesus the son of god) just so no one gets confused, allah is god, in arabic.

Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if there was) a niche and within it a lamp: the lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east (ie neither it gets sun-rays only in the morning) nor of the west (i.e. nor it gets run-rays only in the afternoon, but it is exposed to the sun all day long) whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to his light to whom he wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything.

its good to see fellow muslim brothers in the scene. Well, i havent really been in the scene, but im trying.. just so much shit going on i have no real time... school and stuff... now im gonna be taking a 4year degree in islamic law, so i have no real time.. lol

I'm not Muslim (Catholic) but I did live in a Muslim country for 7 yrs (Bahrain) I can't remember a lot of Arabic but the correct response to salamualakum is ualakumsalam right?

yea I'm christian and speak arabic, and allah simply means 'god' in arabic...i'm always having to clear that up for people, they think allah is a whole different god, like a name, very common misconception!
