Arrrrr, even if it'was possible ta make those there backups, there's still no chip for the GC that allows playing the backup. IMO, Nintendo has always been pretty good at preventing piracy of their games.

yeah they have some wierd way of burning the data onto the disc

If I remember right, the data goes from the outside to the inner ring (regular discs go from inside to outer). I remember a webpage with some guy(s) that were hacking a GC, they had something like a 70 wire "chip" going to it, it was more or less hacked to bits and hooked up to a comp. I wonder what happened to that, if it was real. Anyone know?

that was fake

but apparently someone got a backup to boot after editing the data with the nintendo SDK

but i dont think that was real either

there were so many hoaxes. it got old really fast after the third movie of someone "playing" a gc backup.
