I really need some help please!

I had the OFW 3.55 and then installed Kmeaw CFW with a prepateched PUP that i downloaded. Never re-installed OFW before installing CFW as i was on OFW already.

This all went well and got the 2 New options in the XMB. I then download LV2 patch and tried to install it. but no matter what i do i cant seem to get this to install. It just does not show up in "INSTALL PACKAGE FILE" option.

When i download the LV2 patch it downaloads as a .rar file. Is this why i cant install it? Ive tried rename the file to .pkg, this find the file in "INSTALL PACKAGE FILE" option but when going to install give me an error message of 800.......

What am i doing wrong here. Would i be ok to miss out this step completely and just ininstall the new Gaia Manager which is saying is autopatched with the LV2 file.

Your help would be much appreciated?!?!

Someone please explain to me how people like this are involved in this scene.....the goofball is trying to install a rar file on his ps3!!....Un-freaking-believable.........I see now how people brick their consoles!!!!......God that drives me insane!!!!!!!! All the damn Help Help Help!!!! posts.....

Welcome to 98% of the posts I field/moderate/or have to deal with as PMs all day. You would not believe some of the threads I've deleted/locked because of stupid stuff like this.

Edit: Moved to off topic as it really doesn't have anything to do with game backups, just someone's stupidity.

I just dont get how someone who cant even unrar a file knows enough to even slightly mod a console.........that really scary

They don't. They're usually the ones that are complaining that their console is bricked or they're getting error numbers when running packages.

Welcometo this generation! Seriously those kind of people like that guy just need to sit at home in isolation. Heck straight jacket em cause they might not know how to do anything. My grandmother(70), knows more about file types!!!!! Hell she was burning one of my cousins DVDs about three days ago.

Chesh... I really don't envy you my friend....you have a very difficult job.....I'd ban everyone of them until they proved to me that they had some (at least) basic understanding of the Windows OS or (god forbid) a UNIX based OS.

Wow. That is just crazy! Question is, did he ask how to install WinRAR on his PS3 once he was informed?
Hilarious. Almost as funny as the hundreds that were bricking their FATs on wanin's firmware HOURS after the notice was put up that is would brick 256 NAND systems. (Note: Not funny for the original testers, may your consoles rest in peace, just the ones who don't read and just install whatever they find.)
