this thing is pricey 100+ bidding on one on ebay hope to pay less than 75 the dvr function is what im interested in maybe the hackers can fix so we can watch free tv in the usa

It's not available in the USA because it doesn't support ATSC standards. It's meant for DVB-T, used in Europe, and sold only in the U.K., AFAIK. If you want a real PVR in you PS/3, you'll have to wait for proper Linux install scripts to appear. That way, you can use whatever USB ATSC card you choose, and a proper Media Center/PVR application like MythTV.

playtv is software so cant it be hacked to accept usa local channels ill tinker with to see what i can do thanks for the info
