I am looking into getting a new laptop for college, and needed a little help from my PS2Newz friends, seeming that most of you are very good with computers also.
I am looking into either an Apple iBook, Apple Powerbook, or an Intel Centrino laptop. I have the money to get any one of them this summer. Here's my take on them:
-Cheapest of the three
-Has the best battery life
-Is a Mac, so it is more stable
Apple Powerbook G4:
-Most expensive of the three, but most powerful also (hard to compare speed with PPC vs. Intel though, so that's my opinion)
-Has DVD-RW drive for burning stuff
-Is a Mac, so its more stable
However, Macs have less hardware support and less supported software, but, most of the stuff I want I can get (I already have Photoshop, Logic Audio Platinum 6, Shake, and Macromedia Studio MX on my PC HDD as .sit archives ready to deploy). Also, I will have an old Pentium II 266 mhz Hewlett Packard desktop with 384 MB of PC100 RM and Windows XP and a CD Burner with me, so I can run most basic apps on a PC, but no current games, and I will probably have Virtual PC on my Mac to run Windows programs if I got one. What are your guys' feelings on this?
-Windows, crashes more, but more support
-More games and emu's, more applications
-Easier to find software for
-More hardware configuration options
Let me know what you all think, as I value your guys' opinions very highly. Thanks!
