I know this is a PS2 place, but i thought i woudl check anyway:

Does anyone know if a PAL Gamecube can play Imports/Copied DVD games?

I have a DVD burner, i THINK it can write the small dvd's (like 8-Inch or whatever they are)

There is a product calle Freeloader coming out by Datel (the people who make Action Replay/Gameshark), it allows the playing of Imports on any Gamecube, anyone know if it will allow copies to be played?

    If not, any other way?

where do you find blank mini-dvd's... i thought that was the whole point of nintendo using the mini-dvd thing, so that people couldn't copy the games. I reckon if you could find blank mini-dvd's u'd be fairly sweet.

Maybe the freeloader thing u'r talking about is aimed at the Panasonic Q instead??

I have seen mini DVDs somewhere... It might have been when I was snatched up by aliens and taken to Area 51. Man.. I know I have seen the Minidvds... But as far as the chip for PAL consoles. I just remember the chip for playing JAP imports on NTSC consoles. PAL consoles... Hmmmmm where is Lik-Sang when you need em??

Free loader IS REAL and it is for ANY cube NTSC/PAL Q or Nintendo, I dunno if it would work with copies though my guess is that it wouldn't, BUT however if you wanna play backups i have heard that someone is currently making a workaround for this, Dont ask WHO WHERE i dunno i just heard it from quite a reliable source !!

It involves using one of the expansion Bays @ the bottom of the cube and hacking a standard DVD drive to run on the cube instead of the Toploading drive, sounds expensive though to me !!!!?!

Its cause the DVDs have data starting from the outside going in, nintendos copy protection is based more on hardware obscurity, as far as I kno there have been no reports of pirating GC games
