Once again, Rioting between the IRISH and BRITISH in N.IRELAND

The 12th of july is the biggest marching day of the year for the British in Northern Ireland.

They parade in different parts of N.I but they like to Parade in places where they are not welcome!

Today they marched past an IRISH area in BELFAST and DERRY and tonight rioting kicked of by the IRISH.

The IRISH attacked the cops and british soldiers with Petrol Bombs and Hand Grenades nicknamed as 'BLAST BOMBS'

The Blast Bombs are basically a device packed with explosives and steel nails, they attacked the cops with them, and according to the TEXT news a cop was hit with 3 nails (twice in the chest and once in the leg) and seriosly hurt.

Yeah we all do get along thats why theres a ceasefire, but when they march somewhere they are just not welcome then theres nothing that can be done....

Just a quick update:

Just watched the news, man it was crazy looking! A total of 9 Grenades where thrown along with petrol bombs.

Only 6 of the 9 'BLAST BOMBS' exploded, the cops said that the 3 they recovered where packed with nails, 1 penny pieces and steel shrapnal.

A reporter got badly injured in the leg after one of the grenades landed about 20 feet from him and exploded.

Another cop had to go under surgery after being hit in the chest and leg.

52 Petrol bombs where thrown at the cops in DERRY aswell.

not exactly somewhere where they werent welcome :s

dont think they would be so stupid as to actually walk through somewhere where they arent welcome ...

yeah they actually do, they are british protestants who march through an Irish catholic street. The people who live in that area do not want them there

I have never quite understood this whole situation. First off, Ive been to Episcopal Churches( Church of England ), and what you all consider to be protestant appears to be very very Catholic, so Im not quite sure what the fus is all about. Honestly it all just seems like an excuse to fight. And the sad thing is, why the two sides bicker at one another, they forget that really, they are really the same people, fighting over mere pride it seems. And as they distract each other, the real enemy is plotting, and last week they attacked.

And its like, why the **** do people care so mcuh about each other religion. If its not extremism, if its not terrorism, and if its only belonging to another sect, why does it matter to you? If someone thinks they have to have a pope and a religious bueracracy in order to be faithfull, and the other does not, does it really affect you what the other group does?
Protestants walking down the street in a Catholic neighborhood, well The United States are protestant, but when I see a bunch of catholic mexicans I dont feel the urge to throw rocks at them, nor vice versa. But like I said, religion is merely an excuse.
Whats sad is, a place where you have two white anglo groups of people, practicing two very slightly differenct sects of the same religion, fight, while the let a bunch of foriegners into their lands, whom would like to see both of your groups cease to exist.
I love England, and Ireland. And as an American I feel an extremely close tie to England. England is our mother, and America is her grown child. But I've been watching the BBC a lot lately, and it almost makes me cry to see how week the United Kingdom is becoming. For example, the BBC giving a memo to their reporters to call them "bombers" not "terrorists" in regards to the men who murdered civilians in London last week. Or when I saw an official from Scotland Yard saying that the attacks were a result of British Policy in Iraq, therefore legitimizing them. Those who did these attacks I'm sure do not like your presence in Iraq, but to beleive that these people's only grievance is Iraq, is completely foolish.
While the United States are slowly falling apart, it gives me comfort to see that we are not crumbling as fast as those accross the Atlantic.

Its not the fact of Catholic and Protestant, its the fact of Republican and Loyalist!

When loyalists go out of their way to let senior figures in loyalist paramilitarys walk in republican areas, then off course that will cause a backlash!

These are the same loyalists who shot and bombed this same areas and people, but when it comes to marching then they love marching all over!

I have a TON of protestant friends and workfriends, so it has nothing to do with religon. If republicans went to march in a loyalist area, then there would be a war started by loyalists! Its very stupid, but if you lived here then you would understand.

They are suppositly in Iraq fighting for the Iraqis freedom, so why not give the land back to us?

You asked a stupid question and said ''Ithought they just marched past somewhere, and not actually in somewhere were they were not welcome''

And i just replyed, yes they do walk somewhere were they are not welcome, they dont walk past somewhere they are not welcome, they walk straight through it, so how does that make me dumb or you smart?
