Ok, so I'm building myself a semi-budget PC, I have everything plotted out and I just need a second... or third... or forth opinion, is everything compatible and whatnot? I'm pretty sure it everything is ok but I just can't afford any mistakes.

the number under the title is the item number on newegg.com (just put the number in the seach box and it'll bring it up)

Other than the video card, everything looks OK. I would have went with at least with a 6800 or an X800 chipset, both of which are pretty damn affordable at this point. I suppose if you're not doing any heavy gaming, the X550 should be enough.

SATAs are pretty much the same as IDE drives, except for the cabling (both power and data cables). Just set one to master and everything should be dandy.

Better than the X550, but it's hurting in the RAM department. Not an issue if you don't play at resolutions above 1280x1024.

You might want to think about getting a dual core CPU if you do any multi tasking or video editing. AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail is just $80.
