Personally I think Infinium Labs Corp are kidding themselves if they think they can disrupt the PS2, Xbox and GameCube. Even if the console did have an effect on them, the three heavyweights would most certainly gather more money from their endless pockets and offer more bundles or even drop the price a notch. Either way Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are far to big to be messed with.

i agree with the guy that wrote the article. The "big 3" have too much $$. But maybe the Phantom will cause the Xbox to lower its prices, then it will become really not worth it, so they'll take it off the market :D :lol:

Theres absolutely no way any small company could ever compete, even if the console was 1000x the power, you just cant compete with these mega corps.

so this is just vaporware for now? do they even have a product image? i tried google and couldnt find anything

In the early 90s a lot of new consoles came up by the major leading electronic companies but, they went down anyway. Hmmm, it depends by the developer having the right connections and from there... is our choice to choose the right card, no matter how powerful "it" is!

I highly doubt there going to make a huge impact as they think they are going to do. I must admit though, the console looks pretty badass, but that controller is ****ed up (if they use that in the final design though). I just don't think they could compete with Sony or Microsoft, maybe they could go neck and neck with Nintendo, but even that I doubt it.

Arrrrrrrrrr, sounds ta me like it be the first shots in a new Console War. The cross platform technology sounds nice, so it does...but that could also mean it can play it's Phantom games and only certain PC/PS2/PSX/Xbox/or Gay-cube games...more detail is a definately needed on that topic. The game on demand thing reminds me of yon SegaChannel from years ago. T'would be a smart way to avoid piracy...have a system that the only way ta get yer games is to connect to a server via a broadband connection...No discs needed...also, that'd be the easy way ta make other systems games available! Tis a smart idea...probably thought up by somebody that spen far to many a night in a hotel room playing their inhouse gaming system and thinking "How can I bring this technology to me home?" Well 'ere's the answer...Phantom.

It may be more powewrful yes, but havent you realised thisd is being made now (if it is at all) yet the other '3' were made a considerably longer time ago thus will be less powerful.

ill believe it when it comes out, i rember other systems i say on the net that hyped alot of shit but in the end never came out.
