    i have a maxter hdd that use to be an external now i installed it inside my computer and it will not format or even show its a 120 gb capacity hdd it only shows 31.7gb of free storage that i cant even use until i format it but a screen shows up saying windows can not format this device. what am i doing wrong?

    first of all how do you go from external into internal ? unless it was a normal IDE HDD in a "Rapper"

    anyway I'm assuming it's a EIDE HDD...

    ok it says 31.7gb because a jumper on it is set to "32GB" you need to fix that, most likely it is also mal functioning because of a jumper setting.

    yes it is an ide hdd in a external case. i figured the the jumper was wrong and corrected that problem but i cant get it to reformat the hdd.

    how are you trying to format it? when you install a new hdd (I know this isn't) It doesn't even show up in my computer, you have to right click on the my computer icon choose manage, click disk manage, scroll until you find the drive, and choose to format it through there.

    thanks for the help i did that also but it still says that my computer can not format this drive.
    I thought saving 15% on my car insurance was good but having my ps2 modded by N£TM£ÇH was way better!

    is it possible to get a burned out hdd repaired? our should i just forget about it.

    if there is no extremely important info on it, let it go... new HDD's are so cheap. even upgrade
