probably. and the easy preventative measure so that doesnt happen, is to not have your speakers at full blast all the time.
i have an idea.......pour some water around the speaker.....turn it up full blast....and stick your head on it......keep us updated on your progress..
its hardly ever at full blast its usually less than half way. at around 30 it goes up to 75. man this sucks, can i do anything to it to make it last longer. :(
let me clarify, the sub is turned up to the max, and i have it set to +10dB through my receiver.. but the receiver usually doesnt go above 30
dunno, if you werent running it at full blast all the time and it started doing that, is there sitll a warranty? other than that you're sol.
try changing it to 0dB for a little while and then turn it up.
you will find you burned the enammel copper coils and it's shorting god help you restringing it all there is place's that do it but it aint cheap.

could it be the cable connecting it to my receiver? because if it take it out and put it back in it makes the same noise..... its the same cheap cable that came with the sub......
If its arcing the sound you here it could well be i wouldnt adivse plugging the speakers in with power on to your system i could feed back and blow the amp.
