    Hello guys.
    Sad day for me today

I have an external WD My Book HDD which i use for my PS3 Backups.

Half hour ago i accidentally drop the HDD which is in my desk from the "stand" position with my hand. The HDD is not working anymore.
I open the case and i put the HDD in my desktop computer but the disk is not recognized by windows.
    I am frustrated.
I can return the HDD and take a new one because the warranty is still valid, but i want the data and i dont know what to do.

I have 90+ games backups in this HDD

Can someone tell me if there is any restore software to help me in this situation ? ( i doubt it because the HDD is not recognized by windows).

old trick has worked for me.... stick the hdd in a bag and freeze it but make sure you dont get any water in the bag and give it maybe 10 - 15 hours in the freezer and as soon as you get it out connect it... you wont get the hdd to last you a longtime but you might be luckly enough to egt your games off it

+1...Been doing this trick for years. It's a last ditch effort, but if you're able to restore anything, it's worth it.

If it was physical trauma to the heads that killed it I doubt the freezer trick will work but it's worth a shot at least.

Well, if it doesn't work, you don't have many other options. If Windows isn't even recognizing it, the only other thing I can suggest is using a copy of Hirens Boot CD (I prefer a version around 9.0 as he was still using pirated software around there instead of free software with the later versions). Anyway, it has a bunch of hard drive recovery software on it. I'd suggest disconnecting any other HDD's in your computer and running some of that software. Of course, after you try the freezer trick.

I hope the disk will work after i take it out of the freeze, and i manage to save my data.

After that i dont care if will work or not. I will throw it to the garbage.

I'm guessing you bought this drive from one of those websites since you said 90+ games. If you owned all the games backing them up again wouldn't be a problem, just take some time.

The Hirens disk is your best option, if that wont read the drive, your drive is 100% done.

The HDD is mine and all the games are "backuped" by me
