If i add more memory will that reduce my cpu usage? because when i am recording tv shows my cpu usage goes up to 100%, so i was wondering if adding more memory would reduce it.

Your OS may limit the effective amount of memory you can use as well. Win9x is limited to 512MB max. You can trick Win98SE to use up to 768MB, but it is highly unstable in most cases--there is speculation that it has to do with the AGP or video card drivers.

Only go to 1GB if you are on a NT or psuedo-NT (ie Windows XP, 2000, etc--capable of NTFAT and no 2GB file size limitation, among other things).

512MB is an ideal goal. Doesn't cost a whole lot, and there will be a noticeable improvement. You may see less increase in performance vs. the money spent if you go to 1GB. In some cases, some people have claimed a slight drop in 3D video performance with 1GB.

    Good Luck!
