since apple is making the move to intel cpus, their new x86 version of mac os x 10.4.1 tiger has been released, and hacked soon afterwards. i will try to get this up and running on one of my pcs, since i have a lot of time to waste. imagine the posbiilities tho! with the superior hardware of a pc, you can BUILD a mac for a fraction of the cost, and have better performance while your at it.

official website of the OSx86 project

i hope this thread takes off so others on ps2newz can help me and share information on getting this running!

don't ask where to get this, if you know how to use BT your already half the way their. dont let this thread get taken down, do not request pirated software

I was also planning to put this on my old computer, but apparently it doesn't have SSE2. I only have SSE on it. I guess the only way I could use it is to use VMware.

i can get it running on vmware great, but i cant run it natively, probibally because i have a SiS chipset, and it only has drivers for an intel motherboard. its still pretty cool tho

apple sent some french site a C&D letter over some videos they were hosting that showed osx running on a normal pc. I think we may see more of these very soon.

yeah i erad about that.. right now im looking for any news on home-made drivers for SiS chipsets.. and the emulated mac os x in vmware is pretty slow, but thats not a suprise considering how memory hungry the os is.

they also came out with a patch that lets SSE2 processors use rosetta (software built into the osx86 release that lets general os x applications run on an intel processor)

i also have a spare pc with a VIA chipset, so if they come out with osx86 drivers for the VIA chipset i'd appreciate it if someone posted the news here.

man what a Scam loaded it up into a Dell p4 2.8 Ghz box ( a tiny business workstation) and it loads but my graphics card is not c ompatible apparently, I get black and white, verrry pixelated (can't even read anything) mouse disappears sometimes, very low res, etc :-\ formatted a HDD for this crap lol, is there any patches or some that could help me? safe mode yielded the same results.
