Long question but I need to ask it
Long question but I need to ask it –
have been to multiple counselors/psychiatrists and they all diagnosed me with:
-OCD(Mostly obsessions with the numbers 3 and 13)
-Schizophrenia(Both visual and audible)
-Major anxiety(About a lot of things, mostly about my skin being touched. When i'm touched I freak out to the point I pass out)
-I have to wear very dark-tinted sunglasses whenever i'm outside, because even the slightest direct sunlight hurts my eyes a LOT.
-I have never been to the doctor(I have a severe fear of them. So no shots, no checkups, etc.)
-I have never been to the dentist(Again, severe fear. Even though I never brush my teeth, they are perfectly straight and white)
-And I am near-sighted in only my left eye
Is this sorta bad considering i'm only 13(Almost 14)?
I take no medications for my Schizophrenia, because it is actually pretty under control. Roza(The voice/hallucination I hear/see) never tells me to do bad things(anymore...), she just hangs out and talks to me.
The OCD about the numbers 3 and 13 are what kinda worry me. Whenever i'm doing something, I have to do it 3 times. I'll check over a math problem 3 times, turn the doorknob 3 times, etc. And whenever i'm counting something, it always has to add up to 13 or a multiple of it(Such as 26 or 130). If it doesn't, then I get the vibe something bad will happen(Which is where the anxiety comes in).
The anxiety is a little less than you might think. I wear a LOT of clothing, so i'm almost never touched. I'm also very anti-social, and I sit in the back/corner of all my classes so barley anyone notices me. But when I was around 10 I got panic attacks daily from kids trying to "play" with me(As in play I mean beat me up).
And about the other medial issues.... I only have two questions: Does everyone get wisdom teeth? And when/if they do, do they have to have them pulled out or can they just ignore them....?
So, my questions directly are:
--Do you find all this that I have strange?
--Can someone tell me a way to stop thinking so much about the numbers 3 and 13 WITHOUT medication?
--Does everyone get wisdom teeth?
--When/if I do get wisdom teeth, do they have to have them pulled out or can they just be ignored?
--Would you do if you were me? And be honest.
Imagine being a kid who was taken away from his mother when he was 2, because she was always drinking/doing drugs. You haven't seen her since. When you were taken away you were given to your grandparents, who love you dearly and you love them so much more. You live with them for the rest of your life. You're afraid that if you take medications, as soon as you get off them you will go crazy(like I have seen happen to one of my parent's very close friends) and you will never see them again because you're locked up in a mental institution. Now, do you really want to tell me that if you were in my place you would go to doctors for medication?
Not exactly psx related, but you took the time to write it, i took the time to read it, and you being from Mongolio, lol, ill play along and give you my two cents.
#1 strange? I wouldn't classify it as strange. You have to play the cards you are dealt the best you can. In your case you are very fortunate to have loving grandparents, consider that a major plus and something to lean on and provide some balance. Medical issues, we all have them, at varying degrees and T different stages in life. Sounds like you are figuring out what yours are, and are learning to cope with some of them.
#2 3 and 13. This one ill defer to healthcare professional. Just remember, you have to crawl before you can run. Tackle your challenges a little bit at a time. It keeps your goals attainable and you dont get overwhelmed.
#3 wisdom teeth. Some people get them, some people dont. And anything in between. If you dont brush your teeth i would at lest recommend mouthwash. It really sucks to start losing teeth in your 20s. If you want to avoid a trip to the dentist then you need to balance that out with some legwork on your part. Start with rinsing with just plain water, than conquer mouthwash
#4 must you get them pulled? Not necessarily. If they must be pulled out, than most likely you have reached a point where you will be begging for somebody to pull the tooth out. The pain of a rotting tooth is a 7/10 and it is constant, no sleep. So you will know if that is the case. Otherwise you will just have crooked teeth possibly to make room for the wisdom teeth. But really at your age you have plenty of time before wisdom teeth are even something to think about.
#5 what would i do? Therapy and counseling are very good starts. I would try to conquer my fears little by little. You have your whole life ahead of you, that means that whAtever you do now sets the direction to who you will become. If you want to grow up to be a man that doesnt have these fears or ocd tendencies, then actively work at conquering them in the present, which sounds like what you are doing. Best of luck. Now back to gaming for me
Welcome man. Not sure why you posted this on this type of forum, lol but I'll talk to you bud... To answer your questions -Do you find all this that I have strange? No... Why would someone find it strange? Things we don't ask for or don't want happening just happen sometimes. There's plenty of people with mental health issues, physical issues, family issues, all that. No one asks for that shit.
--Can someone tell me a way to stop thinking so much about the numbers 3 and 13 WITHOUT medication? I'll answer that along with the last question.
--Does everyone get wisdom teeth? No everyone does not get wisdom teeth.
--When/if I do get wisdom teeth, do they have to have them pulled out or can they just be ignored? They can be ignored but have a chance of causing complications if not pulled. It all depends on how they come in and if you have the space to accompany them.
--Would you do if you were me? And be honest. Honestly, this is what I notice... many people who have mental disorders share common traits. unhealthy habits and lifestyle, and many may not actually be mentally sick but in fact the problems may stem from physical health problems...so START exercising and get yourself on a natural diet. None of that junk food or processed shit. Real meat, real fruit, real veggies, water, etc. Good food and exercise can help heal and build you. Lack of those will only help destroy you, remember that. Force yourself to get in the best physical shape you can... Ever heard healthy body healthy mind? Also get your blood tested for vitamin deficiencies because that can cause all these problems your going through. So get in the best shape you can and eat healthy, rule out physical health first. If that doesn't work... Then go on medication.
