I wanna try linux, which one is the best, $$$ dont matter.
LOL $$$$ don't matter, I think you mean.....
anyway, i tried mandrake, it is easy to use, looks awesomeand was good for me( i am a beginner)
and best of all was free!! right off of www.mandrake.com but be prepared to dl like 1.5 GBs!
can u u give me the link to the one u downloaded
Sheesh some ppl are lazyFlynMonkeez, just go to www.Mandrake.com, there is a download link at the top, choose the type you want (ISO's are prbbly best, you just boot with the first disc, it puts you straight into the installer), choose a location reasonably close to you, and there you go.
ISO...... thats wat i needed to no, theres like 10 thing to choose from.
one more question, how many gigs shood i make the linux partition?
well i wouldn't leave too little for windows cause it's always a bitch when it has low space
so this is the best linux right?
no its no where near the best linux distribution, its just a good distro for noobs
i would also suggest checking out redhat 9
www.redhat.com
mandrake and redhat are both excellent newbie distributions...
and if you wanna get even easier, look for Knoppix, its a distribution that takes up no harddrive space...
you simply stick the cd in the drive, and it loads completly off the cd, so you can play around without worrying about partitioning and all that shit.
so redhat9 or mandrake?
