we've got the source someone just needs to disassemble the .dol file and look at the source am i right? isn't that what we did with the memor32's firmware to get the fmcb project?

ESR makes ps2 able to launch discs from ps2 dvd video format.

Wii current dvd libs make it possible to read dvd contents directly from a normal data dvd, so the way I see it the hole concept behind ESR is useless for the wii.

yeah i just thought now that we have some kind of idea to go on a project like esr would be possible not exactly like it since it doesnt have anything to do with the wii but i think you get what im hinting to.

It was my understanding that something like what you have in mind is already in the works. This is ofcourse the newly adandoned Backup-Loader, its already public info what exploit this loader uses so yes someone else could make somthing like it and see the project through.

Also ESR dose not contain any part of mementos firmware it is an orginal work that dose part of the same thing as memento sept better.
and its my understanding that fmcb is based off datels memroy card thingy not actually the memento firmware ether.

^ ahh thanks for clearing the fmcb thing up the only thing iv'e managed to do is convert the .dol file to a .elf but i haven't been able to unpack it or anything remotely close to getting its source code...tho i know nothing about c++ or whatever the .dol is coded in i was merly trying to light a fire under someone's well you know and hopefully this project wont die on its own.

you can't decompile things into there orginal language only into ASM

okay well everyone can get the .dis file here it should be all dissasembled im not sure what im looking at but maybe someone can use it

It's kind of you providing the ASM source, but anyone with the skills to reverse the file will most likely start all over.

Anyway if a working elf loader is to come, someone with the skills will eventually do it.
