in fact, there has been a site made up to address this problem
    ipodsdirtysecret.com

i now know that ipods do not play wma, and all my songs on my pc are wma.....so that's trouble for me

im still not sure what mp3 player im going to buy, but the ipod no longer seems to be the best one out there

sorry too all those who own a ipod.....
*phew* I'm glad I mentioned that then. I too wanted to get an iPod, but the wma thing put me off.

Go for the iriver if you've got the money
Or just wait it out and get like a cheap good mp3 cd player for now...

That guy who made the ipodsdirtysecret.com website just had a very rare situation. I've also heard that the reason a replacement would cost so much for him was because he had previously tried to replace the battery himself and further damaged the player.

hey hey, lets not get crazy, i never said i hated the ipod
it seems to be very good product,
i just have been reading something's about it that are making it seem not to be as good as i have been told it is.
see i did not know that apple has a replaceable battery now, that's good, now the ipod is back in the running with me
but im still going to be looking at other mp3 players

I just wanted to let you know that those information were false. But check ipodlounge, you might find alot more first-hand information about the iPod, both pro and cons from actual users.

Ipod, all the way... I mean, if you're goin' for quality and looks that could kill, simply get yourself a Ipod. You'll be havin' years of fun wit it.

i've got both mac and pc - when I had mine, it was exclusively used with my pc and it ran great. No errors, just plug n play and let iTunes do it's thing. Near the end (before i lost it), I was starting to experience a few database glitches here and there but I never had a chance to see what the issue was.

ok this might be blasphemy, but i hear that the new Dell DJ is a good substitute for th iPod. from all the review that i have read it beats the iPod in battery life and sound quality. the only downside is that it only comes in 15gb and 20gb versions.

here is a link if you want to check it out

the dell dj is actually a rebranded nomad zen (with a better price as well i think?)

It'll do just as well as the zen...this is the ONLY time i would EVER reccomend a dell product
