internet sharing question

okay, I'm getting ready to open my store. I want to have high speed internet access while I'm there so I called my cable company to set it up and come to find out they double to price for it if it's for a business. same service as a home user, no upload or download speed increases. that's just not right in my book.

so is there a way use my home internet access from my store? I clocked the distance and it's about 4.1 miles (give or take a tenth).

someone told me theres a way to use antennas and some other equipment to do this but I'm not sure what he was talking about or even if he was telling the truth.

so does anyone have any ideas on how to do this or what equipment I'll need? I'd like to screw my cable company over now since they seem to like doing it to others.

nah 4 miles is pretty long for that type of thing...sharing would be abitch (if possible with standard equipment)

what my bros company did is just tell them it was a house and they gave them the normal price. so maybe it depends on what installer you have.

unless you have line of sight from your home to the store, it's gonna cost you $$$$ and a headache. (even if you have line of sight it'll still be a headache). it's completely possible, just expensive and time consuming.

call up the phone company and find out how much dsl would cost.

Arrrrrrrrrr, PP, yer opening a store??? Whatcha sellin' or doin'? I would recomends just a cheap dial up service fer ya at first until yer overhead costs can includes such a pricey thing as highspeed internet. Hey, are ye gonna have a website fer yer new shop?

agreed with the cappy, get free dial up with the software that removes the ad banner and time limit..I can't say the name of the software or where to get it.. send me a PM if you need it.

there's no way in hell I'll use dial up. if anything I'll stop eating for a week to save up the money.

my friend just got a HP comp I think like 2.8 ghz or something...anyway his dial up is so fast! it's almost faster then my comp (mostly because of cached web pages) but still it's one fast bugger...

yea, i got a 2.6 and using gay dialup...net is real fast, but d/l and u/l are the same of course.
