Why is it that some Women just refuse to play video games?
or not really but if its not cute or really simple they just loose interest.
But they might watch but not if its a complicated game......

So here i spend alot of time helping around the house and doing our shared chores, and id expect us to have some quality time together but no!

She would rather pick up her laptop and watch soaps on it, they are on her own language so i dont understand squat, only that theres alot of crying screaming, cheating and yelling(she never has the curtsy to use headphones).

and when we do find sometime to spend together she might put on MTV(why is it even called that anymore???!!! Theres almost never any music on)
well i watch it with her, but its in disgust....there i said it MTV disgusts me and all it stands for, i used to somewhat like it when i was younger, But they used to show music videos!!!!

Ohh god what can i do to get her to actually like an rpg......

on facebook she poses like she likes the games i play, but she never tried one or even spendt the time to follow whats going on in it!

at this time i would settle with her trying to understand whats going on in the simpsons rather than sitting on facebook on her phone.

we have 2 kids and dont really get all that much free time....

Yes i told her all of this, yes she got pissed....and is not speaking to me atm...

LOL i feel you bud, i am on kinda the same boat, minus the soaps, she does watches me play often when i play, but she also joins in on little big planet and the likes.

but it is what it is, its kinda late being that we have kids and all, plus i love her to death no matter what, just wish just like you, she would be more interested in games, cant win them all i guess

hehe i guess you are right, but would it kill her to try a real game....

after all the things i have to do for her, its the least id expect im really not asking for much... i mean i dont want money or any physical thing, i just want to have some time as friends so we can enjoy our selfs..... now that i dont have all that much friends left.
since she mostly wants me inside the house..

and i guess i got no where else to go with my problem right now...

Ohh and she refuses to play little big planet because Sackboy looks like a gecko, and she hates geckos(he does so not look like one, and geckos are cool, lamest excuse to not play a game ever, should have won an award)

haha yea i try to get my girl to play games.. she doesnt like it.. but when we were watching a movie on my xbox 360 she liked my avatar and wanted to make one.. and she got all excited making it.. it took me 5 mins to make mine.. her 45 mins.

Hahaha, thats exactly why i gave up on playing sims3 i would not normaly go about playing a game like the Sims but to get her to play with me i did. well id make my sims in about 10min she would take almost an hour per sim, when we where finished it was night time. we tried to play it, but she would rather play it on her iphone.
she actually bought a DS and she played the Nintendogs, got alot of new games from me and never touched her DS again, now its collecting dust

I would actually like to see another womans opinion on the matter, actually see and read somewhere that there are alot of girls playing RPG's lately.. but i never met one in my life(or i have but its very seldom and some of them stick to 1 game pr life time, e.g I love games like Zelda the ocarina of time, but if you ask about any other Jrpgs, she is clueless).

I am not a sexist, i hope im not seen that way, im just trying to figure out why there are so broad differences in interests... i think its sad..... and if i dont get an answer, i might go as far as blaming the media....

You should never commit to a relationship with someone that doesn't like what you do. If you have already done this, then don't complain. It's your own damn fault.

Well id better go and apologize, but this sucks, this means i will be playing by myself for the rest of my life......

Im hoping my kids like gaming when they grow up! ^_^

Now thats just wrong, you will never find someone who likes EVERYTHING you do and will be always SOMETHING about you they dont like you doing. Its a matter of compromise between the 2 of you on getting along with those things you dont care for the other does, thats the trick to a relationship working.

Its possible your girl simply isnt interested in games for many reasons, but you have to descretely figure that out without causing an issue that puts you in the dog house with her.

I found out my wife doesnt play or like to play because she simply cant get the quickness or coordination needed to play most games. She never really played as a kid because her parents never bought any consoles.

I looked for games that might be of interest and something she could 'handle" as far as using the controller, to get her interested. I noticed she liked to watch me and my daughters play all the time and always got involved by telling things we missed or to 'go check that out' kinda stuff.

I knew she liked puzzles and mystery shows, so i bought games of those kinds and started playing them. She decided one day to give it a try and now a few years later she is playing Final Fantasy type games , because they are menu selections for everything you do and she can handle that. She loves the puzzle, poker and Casino type games and plays often now.

I dont know your relationships status, but try making her feel like she will really enjoy playing games with you and choose games you think she can play. Play with her and let her win alot.....

Soon she might be more willing to play games you like and even compete with you.

My 2 daughters now play Call of Duty, Black Ops type games and i cant beat them anymore.....wife still isnt up to that, but she spends almost as much time playing as we do now.

Thanks for both your replies, Well just for the record im 28 and we have been together for alittle more than 4 years now.

Im really good at fighting games, so i think i might have scared her off the bandwagon there.

My dream would be to have her play Final Fantasy games.
I have tried everything, but she only likes the characters, i think all the menus and choices scare her off.

I have also tried games like worms, buzz etc, but no go.

She would not play snes emu either... even thought she said that, she always wanted to have harvest moon when she was a kid, but could not get a working copy of it. i have the game, i love it... she never plays it... baah
