It's Cox on the "preferred" package - supposed to be 12mbps downstream (15mbps with "powerboost") & 5mbps up. My cable modem is liberated (hacked!) resulting in my speeds posted above! i dont see how they're getting caught, since the mac address spoofer pretty much makes you invisible. after a little thinking, there IS one way i know is an instant red flag for cox... it's if you unleash the upstream channel(s) and get crazy. they arent really caring about download speeds, but closely monitor upload speeds! that might make clear as to why my upload speed isnt as dramatic as my download speed... i have an sb6121 cable modem - 4 channel downstream and 4 channel upstream. i'm only using ONE upstream channel and limiting it to less than 15Mbps. Each channel can theoretically handle about 43Mbps down and 32Mbps up....
