other than the initial load? I am fascinated by it, given that it doesn't install anything only caches data.
sorry if it is in the wrong section.

That's how it's done - the cache data. It constantly changes what's cached as you play. You don't see it because it's usually done in the background especially during long cutscenes
Yep. Naughty Dog did the same thing with Jak and Daxter on the PS2

All that means is that there's enough cached ahead of time so you don't notice. I don't remember the source - maybe Lethal NFS can help me with that - but I remember reading about how the game is cached meaning long wait at first but no wait during the games. Also I know on the Uncharted games if you want to further reduce all waiting time, then run PSARC and extract all the lage (over 1 gig) .psarc files and remove the originals. That fixes a sound stuttering issue and there's also additional speed improvements
While playing Jak and Daxter, the level starts to load when you get close to the entrance of a new area. It continues to load as you are entering. By the time you are near any sort of objective, the level is already cached and ready for play. This is what creates the seamless world without load times. No different than riding an elevator while the next area is loading up. This just removes the elevator.
