How to Copy and Backup Any DVD Movies?
How to Copy and Backup Any DVD Movies? –
Most DVDs are designed to prevent you from making copies. The first preventative measure is encryption. Commercial DVD titles are often encrypted, which prevents you from either copying them to your hard drive, or if you manage to do so, being able to play the resulting files. DVDSmith Movie Backup overcomes this problem with built-in decryption algorithms. And, DVDSmith Movie Backup is completely FREE!
To copy a commercial DVD video disc, such as The Dark Knight or Wall-E, to the computer hard drive with DVDSmith, you only need three mouse clicks!
1. Choose backup mode
2. Set Output file location
3. Start backup
With DVDSmith Movie Backup, you can remove all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) from DVD movies while copying the DVD movie to PC hard drive as a DVD structure folder, then you can convert the DVD folders to various of formats that are compatible with popular portable devices like iPod, PSP and Zune, Mobile phones, Archos, Creative Zen, Sandisk Sansa, etc. using Any DVD Converter. Following is the output profile list of Any DVD Converter:
After the backup folder is created, if you want to burn it to a DVD, you can use some burning software, such as Nero and Roxio, to burn the backup folder. You can also download a free burning tool called ImgBurn.

hey, just thought i would add this as its what i use, is very simple.. and will auto convert dvd9 movies down to dvd5, and you wont notice any quality loss at all!.. some movies where i wanted to keep all the extras, the main movie was compressed to 65% and it still looked like the original.
you can remove anything you don't want from the dvd, including subtitles/extra audio tracks to free up more space for the movie. and as you remove stuff the program auto changes the compression so the movie fills the dvd and gives the best picture.
or just click on the re-author button, and drag the main movie over to create a dvd without menus and highest quality you can get from converting down.
all backups are region-free by default... but you can choose a region if you like (why would ya?)
anyway onto the links..
the program is not actually on that site due to some legal reasons i think... the program is just too good at copying dvds
but if you goto that site, and click on the How? tab, then click on the DVDShrink Guide link, then check the download section on that new site you will find the app.
here is a direct anyway, download is only 1mb
*sorry to the thread creator, i'm just adding another tool that people might like*
Since this is already here, and I know a great site for tutorials and such,
here ya go.....
BladeDreams DVD Back-ups
I prefer using Any DVD Clone. It's more convenient, and it has more features, such as copy DVD to ISO, DVD to Backup Folder, DVD to DVD.
I just used the trial version to make two backup copies of the Dark Knight and Wall-e DVDs. The quality of the copied DVDs are as good as the original. I am very satisfied.
