If Mathieulh just practically told us how to make the 3.60 CFW, then why doesn't anybody execute the process and release it? I mean, why don't they just mask their IP address and release it as anonymous? It's just as simple as 1, 2, 3! I mean, why doesn't this happen? And if there is a reason, please don't ridicule me, because I'M not a top-notch developer.

So make it yourself and take the blame
Someone does it anonymously and someone steal their credit other person gets pissed and not work on anything else
There is no win win situation
Also why? It would be better to wait until all the games be released around the end of this year then drop a new cfw
Why play the cat and mouse game
but back to the topic people dont want to be sued

knowing the exploit and executing it is two different things. math said the implementation is the problem. i wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't actually broken 3.6 yet, because if he had, the likelihood of it NOT leaking out already is slim.

Yeah bro. If I was a hacker and if I hacked 3.60 why release it? It makes no sense to Sony is just going to update in like the next 3weeks or so anyway

You see that is the ps3 scene BIGGEST problem
Its all about hey look at me look at me instead of releasing it when the time is right
Have you noticed that there are firmware updates almost every month now?
Its the hackers very own fault...
If I was a hacker I wouldn't of released anything plain and simple
A real hacker doesn't have to gloat yeah without them I wouldn't be playing on my 3.41 ps3
but you guys need to realize that it was all fun and games but this scene is coming to an end
Look we have access to at least 100 free ps3 games
I been looking at this forum since August of last year
I even bought the PS jailbreak dongle and I am STILL on my 3.41 playing backups and I am happy if there will never be a another CFW
you still have to buy games people
I bought a another ps3 and I bought the new mortal kombat game I am happy that I can pirate games off of 1 ps3 and buy the new upcoming titles on my other ps3

this is the best thing i ever heard. right on man.

i am constantly looking on ebay for another system because i dont 2 systems yet. but as soon as i find one, bam ill be online with 3.60 and any game i want to play i can just buy off ebay or gamestop and play it. but dont get me wrong, i love my mario and stuff like that and i am glad somoene came out with a cfwso i can play all the old games from nintendo and SNES and such. and if a jailbreak comes for 3.60 i will update my CFW system just to be able to copy the games i have already purchased so they dont get scratched. but none the less, i will buy games just so i can play them legitly online with no worry of being banned

So, apparently what I should do is buy another PS3 (A used PHAT console, maybe refurbished, with it on an older firmware) from either GameStop, or a local video game store, because Naz..I mean Sony doesn't make those PHAT ones anymore, back up my current slim PS3 with a third party HDD, then update the PS3 slim to 3.55 (If I'm lucky) THEN jailbreak it?

Dont buy from gamestop. I bought one and it was already on 3.60. Took it back and got another one and it was also on 3.60.

Yeah, your best option would be to get on craigslist or maybe hit some local pawn shops for a second system. Better chance of it not being on 3.60.

Used to be not a big deal to release anonymously. Had I stuck with programing and gotten into hacking, I wouldn't mind doing it today.

It just seems that developers started getting pizzed for others taking credit.

I have had other people take credit for work I did in the past. My ego is not so big that it bothered me.
Personally, I would rather have someone else take credit if I released a 3.60 CFW.
That way, when the chit hit the fan with Sony.............wouldn't be my door they came knocking on.

Also it would be amusing to sit back and watch while people asked "how did you do this"
or "why did it happen that way" and KNOW they would be squirming because they didn't have the proper answer.

I've upgraded from 3.55cfw - 3.61ofw, I think the scene is dieing slowly, nothing happening, it was fun whilst it lasted but online gaming is the way to go, and when you think about it, how many consoles that are hacked/modded/jailbroken "whatever u wanna call it" are actually able to play online?? Not many if at all and the ones that can run the risk of getting banned every time they go online. Single player (sat at home alone, no online) is a thing of the past, that's why people keep buying a 2nd,3rd,4th and in my case 5th console, as jailbreaking/flashing leads you into a false sense of security, that your gonna end up with the ultimate gaming machine after doing these exploits! Well you don't! in most scenarios you get left behind in the times whilst everyone else is enjoying the real experience of online gaming. The real value of cfw would be to have the best of both worlds on one console, but in reality cfw&ofw on the one console that can play online and home brew ain't never ever ever gonna happen, so in the case of all ps3 owners on cfw3.55 who can't afford another console for online play, I suggest upgrade to 3.61 and enjoy the experience of online gaming, cuz that's why you purchased it, and for those who can afford 2x games consoles ......... Enjoy the best of both worlds
