GSM vs CDMA (PCS)

Any advantages/disadvantages to PCS (CDMA) or GSM? I am looking at Verizon for their cheapest 24.99 plan cuz it has more minutes than T-Mobile's 19.99 plan for the money, however, I have a GSM Cingular phone and I currently enjoy good reception with it. Also, I have heard CDMA does not travel near as well as GSM in other countries. Any thoughts on which one is preferable?

gsm isn't all that great in america yet but the phoens are nice

GSM, I only say GSM because that's what we use over here, GSM 900/1800, that is.
...Or if I was wrong above, it's something like that..

I use GSM, and it is alright. In the bigger cities and especially the New York area I hear, GSM is good. Its getting better over time as more and more GSM Cells are built arount the country. Find out how large your cities GSM network is. Id personay got with teh GSM, and ya the phones are leeter.

In the US you guys have GSM1900, right?

Yes, but any Tri-Band phone will easily handle our frequency, such as the Sony Ericsson T610.

Yeah, but so many Nokia phones are designed especially for each GSM type, e.g. Nokia 3330 would be for GSM900/1800 as opposed to Nokia 3395 being for GSM1900..
It's all weird...

I have a Nokia 7250i, no idea what kind that is..
All I know is it supports GSM900/1800.
