Goodness what system should i get

i been thing about gettin a 2nd nextgen system.
now the xbox seems really nice with its emulation and being able to play things off the hd. i dont know much about the gamecube so i would like it if some of you can pont out some good and bad points of each if it you could or did what 2nd system would you get.

go for the xbox, better gaming, more fun to hack, better homebrew software, and i hear nintendo is done with development, and are trying to get their next system done.

yeah i think nintendo lost it after the SNES the n64 had some good games but only a hand few

yeh if i had to do it all over again i think id choose an xbox, all though ps2 keeps getting better and better and x**** herrrmmm xbox* is still the same.

Yea, I gotta agree wit ps2. I done a WHOLE HUGE thread with Blink about why ps2 was better, and he finally shut up (thus far anyways) cuz he was proven wrong ...Go check it out in general ps2 discussion "Why do you like PS2 (no fanboys)"
Anyways, basically as far as gaming goes...PS2 is WAY better.
As far as emulation goes (if your into emulation) XBox is WAY better, and of course graphics are better.

If your interested in playing NEW, GOOD, games then buy yourself a ps2. If your more interested in Playing OLD, Emulated Games, then buy yourself an XBox (ps2 has some emulation, but not much, and the emu's aren't the greatest in the world either).

XBox is a decent system, and in my opinion 90% of the 10 games it is has are crap ! J/K, but any1 who is logical woudl say:

PS2 has More Games (WAY MORE)
PS2 has "Mostly" better games
And of course ps2 is outselling The BlackBox for a reason...Not just outselling, but DOMINATING! To tell you the truth, if I were to choose between XBox and GC...Even though GC doesn't have modchips or anything I'd take the damn GC! Mario, Metroid, Zelda, RE0, RE4, etc...There isn't that many games, but all the games are pretty much GOOD, or GREAT.

ANyways though, it's your decision on what you should get. It all depends on what your really wanting your console to do, and what's important to you...

here is an idea for all the people and the emulation argument.......... emulate on your pc, the best emulators are on the pc
buy a smartjoy and plug a console controller in and wabammmm you got great emulation, but get a ps2 for the games, get an xbox if you are a bitch, and get a gamecube if you want two kick ass remakes of kick ass games (Resident Evil Remake and Metal Gear Solid the Twin Snakes) only 2 gamecube games i own the rest are for PS2

Go with the games that you like.

I love Zelda so I have an NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, GB, GBA SP, and DS coming when they come out with Zelda for it. I also like Metal Gear, so I have a PS2. My co-worker wanted to offload his Xbox for less than $100 compared to retail (at the time), that's why I have an Xbox.

Let the games that you like dictate your choice.

Fanboys have to be the lowest on the chain of gamers, damn. Why cant one conversation involving all of the game systems be fanboy free for once?

I own all three systems, and if you want choice emulation and a good media playing system (IE. .avi, .mpg, .mp3, hell, even internet browsing!) and a lot of shit to tinker around with, Go for the big black box. Ive found I get the most enjoyment out of it because you can just do so much shit with it. Its virturally a modding enthusiasts machine.

Now if you want unique games that only nintendo can provide, Like the Metroid and Animal Crossing games, go for the GC or DS. Its not a half bad system if you can acutally play games without worry of your masculinity.

And from what ive gathered by your post.. You seem to already have a ps2, eh? I wont go there then.
