I just wanted to start a new thread asking what games People like playing, I for one Crave more beat'em'ups I think the PS2 needs more. But you lot post what games you like it don't have to be on PS2 either (ANY FORMAT)

Here are some games i think deserve a mention

Any Streetfighter game needs a mention
All the King of fighters games (well done to Playmore for still providing us with the finest)
    Mortal Kombat 5 DA
    Virtua Fighter 4
    WWE Smackdown 4
    Tekken 4

I also like most Side scrolling shoot'em'ups aswell like

    Metal Slug
Megaman Series (not the 3d ones)
    R-Type
    Ikaruga

I think you lot get the drift, I think games should be more like they used to be, But everything is going 3d now, Fair enough it adds more depth into the game but Dirty Camera angles just put me off

Arrrrrrrrr, welst me addiction to FFX is finally over since beatin' the bugger into the grave. I've moved on to Fatal Frame now...if'n yer afraid of ghosties...or things that go "Bump" in the night, get this game, turn off all the lights, hook yer ps2 up to a good surround sound, and prepare to get the willies scared outta ya!!!

I too like a good fightin' game right now my fav's that I've are

    Tekken Tag
    DOA2: Hardcore
X-Men: Next Dimension (Cuz Havok is in it!)
    Bloody Roar 3

Now me all time favorite PS2 game so far is Balder's Gate! I've played and beat that critter at least 5 times now. Ain't no other game like it out there!!! If there is, somebody let me know, for me and the Mrs. love to play that game together...and if'n there's another such critter out there a lurkin, why I needs to get me hands on it, so I do!!! Arrrrrrrr

RPGs are my favorite! I liked Final Fantasy 10, but it was missing something. First, it wasn't challenging enough. Second, you know how in the previous FFs you get to actually CONTOL your airship. Well, in this FF you don't get to roam around with your airship, it's just plain select a destination. To me, controlling the airship is half the fun of the game. Too bad FF 11 had to be online. But i hear FF 12 is going to be offline!

    Ganja,

Well, On the Nes a ninja game & I don't know why I enjoyed playing baseball games on the Nes. And on the Nes-16, I liked NBA Jam & Mortal Kombat 1&2. Actually NBA Jam & Mortal Kombat is an old friendship thing with some old buddies, it was a lot of fun, we even bet a few times.

When my bro got the PSX, Mortal Kombat 3 & Trilogy, Wipeout (good music), Tekken & Wing Commander 3, Battle Arena Toshinden and one of my favorites Extreme Games (kick the competition away). Years later I played the Gran Turismo series & I like them, recently Metal Gear Solid Integral & Syphon Filter.

On the PS2, well I don't own a PS2 but since I discovered MGS, I will go with MGS2, my cousin just have a few games including the favorite... Heck I'm gonna buy a few racing games for him & I think those are going to be more than his little collection. Also GTA's are kinda cool.

But getting back to the real thing, I don't think I like an specific genre, but if some kid bring a game, I see it & I like it is on then. I think if I play those old games again I still enjoy it today, especially NBA Jam. There's also an airplane game on the atari that was the only one that I wanted to play when I was a kid. Ganja thanks for popping the topic, it brings good memories, even now dude things are getting like before & they're just going to be good memories because I'm going to be busy, thanks again man.

I really don't remember the name but the cover of the game, I don't know if there's an explosion and an airplane getting the hell out of there?

For all you RPG fans (especially you Cappy), one of the best and sadly overlooked titles to hit the market was Shadow Hearts, which unfortunately was released around the same time as FFX.

Kick-ass opening sequence, excellent story line, outstanding graphics, decent music, and multiple possible endings. The Judgement Wheel used in battle took a little getting use to, but once you got the hang of it, it was a welcome change to the typical turned-based battle engines. If you enjoy watching the magic spell sequences in the FF series, you won't be disappointed with Shadow Hearts either.

Really, if you missed this title, grab it however you can. You won't be sorry, I guarantee it.

I truly hope those folks do a sequel to it...

(BTW, I enjoyed Legaia 2 also...)
