Ftp pc to ps3 via lan?
Does anywhone can help me to ftp files to ps3 thats directly connected with my laptop with a lan cable, i have searched and i have found some options
but they didn't work for me,
PS: my laptop is connected wireless and I use a normal ethernet cable, or does that not work?
Ok have found it, please admin close this thread...
if your talking about ftp'ing from pc to ps3 over a lan without a router the answers yes ,
just connect ethernet pc to ps3 and manualy set the ps3 IP address to : 192.168.1.10
set pc IP : 192.168.1.11 ( u might have to change your ruleset in firewall )
on both ps3 and pc set default gateway to : 255.255.255.0
dont worry about dns as its not used.
now just fire up your ftp client and set the ps3 IP ( username and password are left blank )
hope this is what u was asking an it helps :)
What I did was i went out and bought a cheap Ethernet switch, plugged my computer in, plug my PS3 in, FTP'ed into my PS3 and it worked fine. and now i can transfer games over the switch at around 22 MB/s
well, I transafer at about 36MB/sec...

PS3 got a whole different IP, different from my regular wifi network IP, and now I transfer big files at ~36MB/sec.
