free music editing software?

anyone know where I can get some free music editing software?

all that I reall want to do it be able to take parts of a song out.

example: I have a 3 minute song but I cant stand the part of the song from 2:00 to 2:30 so I want to take it out but I still want to keep from 2:30 to 3:00.

any help?

this isnt free but if u got nero u could use the nero wav editor

nope, actully I got my name because my favorite animal is the penguin and my favorite color is purple.

I did find out about that Purple Penguin group a few weeks ago though. turns out I'm not the only one with a liking for penguins and the color purple
