Forums Hacked, PS2newz name left?

Hello,

I am simply posting here to come to a conclusion on what is rally going on. I am not making any allegations nor am I trying to harrass ps2newz or its crew. Jus recently, this morning our forums have been hacked. The forums, threads and my admin access has been removed.

I have narrowed it down to one user, another admin that has been compromised as well. However what I did notice is the email address was changed to "admin@ps2newz.net"

This is why I am here to find out what is going on. If ps2newz is behind this, why and what gains do you have doing such actions? If you are not, I express my apologies as someone in the scene has taken advantage of our website and left ps2newz signature for the doing.

My email address is whatnot@hush.com - if you know of anything or wish to speak with me regarding this matter. Out of courtesy and respect, I have not posted the URL of our website.

I know ps2newz has had rivalries but it doesn't seem like their style to hack other websites. If that was the case then ps2ownz would have been hacked more times than we could count!
the same thing happened to plus-newz but the ip was traced to the UK. Lots of rumors on irc say that its ps2ownz trying to frame ps2newz because they are having problems with the owner of plus-newz, Entity, giving out personal information on members of ps2newz.

It's all really sad.

I know none of the people could have done such things here. We all have better things to do than go around hacking good sites like Backup Source. After all, I thought ps2newz and Backup Source were rather good allies. Hope my word helps a little too.

that's not true. Ps2ownz planned on hacking this website just a few weeks ago. Everyone on IRC has the log.

If an admin gives me permission i will put it here. It's also in the thread where Entity gives out information on Guichi and Fairlight.

Sounds like you know something that we don't, tell us what's going on then.

whatnot you should read the thread regarding ps2newz being hacked. I'm afraid you may have been pulled into more bad scene politics statrted by ownz and plus-newz members.

Entity purchased their vbulletin and CJPC, a ps2ownz member installed everything for them. Just over 1 week after it was installed it was hacked. Coincidence? Doubtful.

Hacking this site and hacking another site and blaming newz for it is a different thing. Perhaps ownz would hack newz but I know ownz would not hack another site and let newz take the blame like pussies.
