I for one have flown the coop, but now how most see it. I'm still new to the 'scene', and have spent most of my time lurking. Since I have a brand new PS3, I havent even been able to try and do anything with it until something comes out that will let me jailbreak, but without messing up my legit play too.
But I digress.
Since learning about the 'scene', I have been a member of PS3 hax. Sure I get my news from different sources sometimes (RSS is the best) but PS3 hax was the closest place I had to a home.
Until now.
I wont be visiting PS3 hax anymore. I've been watching this flame war, and I even believed it at first and did a bit of cursing at PSX Scene myself. Im a lurker, so I didnt join in any conversations, but I did alot of reading and muttered many obscenities at the new admins here. I admit it, I did it.
But lately, I havent been so sure about things. I feel like I've been told just what the people complaining WANT me to hear. The last straw was a full front page article complaining about the terms of use on PSX. I googled a bunch more sites, and found that the wording PSX used was pretty much the same as everywhere else. But according to the OWNER of PS3 hax, they are trying to steal from the devs.
I'm sorry, but this is where i draw the line. That is just mud slinging at an attempt to scare people from PSX to hax. And it cost them a member. I dont abide by underhanded and contorted truths.
But to be fair, how about this right here?
"With respect to all other Content you elect to post to other publicly accessible areas of the Service, you grant PS3HAX.NET the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed."
That is a line from hax's own terms of use. Wow. Did PSX sneak that in there too? Are you making plans to rip off the devs? Or maybe its something you forgot to take out of your terms before you attacked someone else. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!!!
Good bye hax. I wont play your games anymore. I hope more people wake up and smell the stuff you are shoveling, and go to ANY other site (no, because i came here i dont say its for everyone) instead of stay on a site run by people shouting at the moon and trying to scare people into using your site by any means possible.
I have to agree. It seem that the real source of all the drama is PS3hax. They seem to be like a virus, spreading their hate and disinformation around the internet. I use to visit PS3hax more because on here it use to be mostly people telling each other off. The New admins tried to put a stop to that and I think psx-scene is better because of it. I think a lot of the trouble makers where offended that they got called out on there actions and that is where the drama began. Ps3hax i think seen this as a opportunity to increase their membership and helped fuel the flames.

I see this membership crap alot. So let's go look at statistics :
Here is a snapshot/stats of PS3HAX:
Website Worth: $168,721.98
Daily Pageviews: 77,042
Daily Ads Revenue: $231.13
Alexa Rank: 12,980
Quantcast Rank: 20,574
Compete Rank: 51,434
PageRank: 3
Backlinks: 0
The fact is irregardless of what memo's you have read, sites like ps3hax aren't trying to steal members. Likewise no one is getting a commission or whatever off of new members. So this dark agenda thing needs to stop. Anyone who is perpetuating it needs to stop. As any issues between members of a site won't effect the grander scheme of things.
In all honesty things such as the TOS are effecting the site's statistics themselves. here's a current statistic of the PSX-scene.
EDIT: I'm glad the TOS was sorted out. Now hopefully we can all move on. But to think that a site is trying to steal members, traffic, or what have you is just asinine. I wish to god I was getting commission for telling people where I like to hang out. It would really help things financially.
One or two sites aren't going to effect another site that much. There's a bigger reason behind that. Again regardless of whatever memo you have read, a big drop isn't gonna be down to some members. It's a good indication that something has been done wrong which is changing the public's perception. I can guarantee this from hosting a couple of sites myself. Public perception is everything. A few members trying to change that won't effect the larger public perception. They may swing a few people one way or another. But it takes far more to turn the perception of a site than a squabble between members.
These dark agenda claims or memos are only adding more and more fuel to the fire. When in all honesty they need to be left in the past where they belong.
funny thing is all claims of dark agenda comes from users of 50 or less posts
Ya it's because those same people read jay-jay's screwed up memo. but no worries. Let em think what they want. . I talked about that stupid memo in another thread. I'm done talking about it now. I just wish the admins would remove it. It does nothing but fuel the fire.
For what it's worth we measure traffic using google analytics and since the merger traffic has been climbing. I wouldn't trust Alexa or compete because we do not use their traffic tracking code, but we do use googles and we trust googles implicitly. As far as the rest of this thread, I'm going to close this up. While I appreciate the comment made here we need to move on from the bashing and get back to gaming.
