fake files in kazaa

well i dled a 192 kbps that had many users and after i dled it something wasnt rite. well the song was playing for like 25 sec then it made a reallie loud noise like a SCREEEEEEK and ugh i almost had a headache. well my question is did i dl the song wrong or is the song a fake? if fake then damn, that many users???? kazaa must be sucking these days huh? maybe ill move to gnutella lol ya rite

There are much better choices for mp3s. I persoanlly use winmx.

KaZaA is not nearly as convienient as many other methods out there yes. If you must however resort to using KaZaA you might want to actually learn how to use it and use it well. First off you want to get KaZaA Lite. Then to verify files you might also want to get something like AVI Preview or Video LAN for videos. Whenn previewing songs you just click previews from the right-click drop down menu.

To verify files without even previewing them you should always check filenames, If it has multiple users then you should click the "+" box so it drops down. You can then see what all of the users have eneted as the infromation for the file. If they vary then you should be able to use common sense and avaoid the file.

Hey Bighap:

After I read this, I thought to give Winmx a try.

After downloading and installing the program, it first tells you to wait for the program to connect. Ok done

After it tells me that I can start searching and/or download, I go to the search option.

I have typed several artists and songs(which I believe to be very popular and easy to find), but then I get a message that the program is waiting for results. After 5 minutes, the program is still waiting. I have tried this several times and the program gives me the same result.

Any ideas that can help.

Just in case, i have broadband connection, and followed the settings wizard.

Not sure what the prob is. If on the connection screen you have it set to primary connection, try changing it to secondary.
