K, my computer's crapping out, and i think i'm going to have to send it away soon, but i'm going to be putting one of the linux releases on my xbox, i know it'd be easier to put this in the xbox forum, but i'm sure more people look in here, and know linux well...i'm looking for the MOST WINDOWS LIKE linux that i can get so i don't have to deal with the confusing stuff.

lol gaz, redhat isn't the most windows like!
what about Corel Linux? (now bought by a company and called Lindows)
it starts windows software and linux software, with a windows user-friendly GUI... the most n00bish linux out there.

KDE? Guichi! have you ever figured out how unstable Konqueror is?
Konqueror used to crash on me all the time, so i swapped to gnome!
    nautilus > konqueror!
btw, i, a 13 year old child (yeah, i'm saying it now), use linux on my box, so if i can do it, surely you can!
on my box i have the .exe file attributes set to run wine!

he changed it, and I was a respected member :-/ oh-well

anyway like I said before mandrake was EASY to get going, 3 disc, graphic install...choose the software you want, and you are on your way! and it was simple to use, (looks better then XP if you ask me) it was very cool, if it works on xbox, it is definetly your choice. (lindows blows) I had lindows for a while to, but I prefer mandrake by far.

I would not recommend installing linux aside a windows installations though because

    1. you will never use linux !! lol ( i learned the hard way)
    2. it installs lilo, which isn't very friendly after you uninstall linux, you have to bootup with the XP install disc, and fix your master boot record.

anyway in the end madrake is gooD!

mandrake good? you have to be shitting me, it was so graphical my eyes hurt! i swear, it's just too n00bish!
and Guichi: i've never used a mac in my life, and i have no ****ing idea what you're rambling about in my sig...
tieger: "...graphical install..." again, too n00bish, get slackware 8.1 and learn the hard way! i had to reformat my comp 3 times to get the install right.
