Agreed - DVDShrink is a great little app. DVD Decrypter is also fantastic. So I would shy away from paying for DVDXCopy. I was just utterly burned for plopping down 70 bones for Recover4All, so I'm just a little wary of these small, expensive apps. Damn you Recover4All - didn't recover jack shit and my iPod remains blank.

I have a related question I have notased outhers get a much better compression with there VOB files then me when we both started with the same DVD compliant mpg file (they did not downsample the mpg's) so what app gives the best VOB compression?

When you compress the video, there will be some quality loss. Different programs use different compression algorithms. Supposedly CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder) provides one of the highest quality compression.
