does the brand of HDD u have affect the fragments you will get,
for example
i have 40GB "generic" (yes on it i actually says generic!)
my 40giga has tons of fragments on it and after defrag is done running, and i hit analyze again it says i need to defrag again!
the 40GB HDD has win xp, and all my apps and a few ps2...
on the other hand i have a 80GB 7200RPM IBM HDD
this is nearly full with ps2 backups, and it never neeeds to be defragged!
c my point?
what to do...?
would appreciate the help!

in your particular case, i'd say that the main reason your 40gb is more fragmented then the 80 is because that's the drive your running u'r os and apps from, so it's constantly reading and writing, and u'r 80 isn't. So yeah, but in terms of brands being the cause of fragmentation, i'd say not really.
It's vague cause i am,
