Does anyone else hate ps3news.com??

I'm just taking a survey, does anyone else dislike that site?

In my own opinion, I'm not fond of that site and its admin at all. I've been banned twice from there for some really B.S. reasons.

first time I mentioned that they need to update thier ps2 apps and I posted one over there and posted all the information of where it came from and who was working on it. Got an instant ban from that. The second time I mentioned winhiip in a post and got another instant ban. Each time they didn't even give the chance to edit my posts.

Oh well. After some digging and some history lessons about that site, I've found they've ripped off and claimed for thier own, quite a few apps and information. Honestly, I'm amazed that anyone would really want to visit that site just at the fact that its so over censored and more like a communist society.

This is just my two cents on this. Oh, and this one should really be in the off topic section

Yeah I was a Mod there. But you're right about the censorship. And don't disagree with him!! Dan will ban you like he did me. I've done alot for that site in a year and a half,but now it seems he's stressed out and "doesn't have time" for anything. But when you disagree or go against him look out. He banned me from IRC,took away my rep points,and I can only look on the forum not post!! Well its all good as I was fed up with the bullshit so screw his site, the pop-ups and the censorship...hope it all comes crashing down on him. He treats people ok at first,but once you wore out your usefullness,you gone. Just ask some of his other former mods,who did all kinds of stuff for him and have yet to get repaid,while he makes $ off the site. Well I guess its a lesson learned. Maybe I'll call him and give him a real piece of my mind....just a thought.............................

I wouldn't even mess with him at this point. He's not even worth the effort of a full scale argument. But from being a mod to banned in a flash is really screwed.

I'm a bit puzzled on this statement. Please elaborate on this. But as for censorship in a forum. I can understand it to a degree. Obviously its not wise to post about warez, but where he acutally refuses to allow discussion of homebrew apps (for either on the ps2 or pc side apps) from another site is insane. We can only hope that ps2ownz (ps3news.com) goes under.

Also I'm curious, what was your user id there? I might recognize you from when I browsed their forums? My first ID there was Bootleg Greg, and my second was v7mips2. Although you won't find any of my posts as they were all deleted on my banning.

What I meant by that sentence was..if you disagreed on the censorship. See we would let posts go and he wouldbe all over us for it. It seemed like the rules changed daily. The only homebrew were the ones he was buddy's with. And most of the time on that stuff he would have to approve it even though we were mods and supposed to be trusted.
My name on there was out4it. I asked all the stuff with my name on it be removed,so far it hasn't. But thats the jist of it,also theres a little more to it,but basically he can't handle the site and wants his mods to do some of his daily workload. The only perks we got was some items for review now and then. But when you asked him if you can review a new item,he'd say we're not a review site.LOL so go figure.

I see now.and wow, its amazing that some mods like northernpimp and starlight even hang around. I certainly understand why your not.

And I do remeber seeing you around the boards there quite frequently.

But all in all, one way to look at it is that you don't have to put up with the BS now.

Well, I was wise to use this site first XD then any other. Found that this website enough for me so I didn't really head down ps3news except 5 minutes ago - I wanted to see how crap it is.

First things first, I noticed that there's a hell of a lot of advertising all over the website. Popups was always a nuisance and they keep popping up every now and then too much. I've never been so pissed about this. I look for the "Close" button more than text. Loading between pages were considerably longer then browsing about here. The forum moderator sort of inserted his little advertisment into every forum thread, which is annoying. I have to stress that it was also difficult looking about.

I eventually closed the website from my screen, when I accidently did so while closing 3 consecutive popups. Back here again, I wonder why people are actually posting down there!

I wholely concur with everyone. I am an active member of ps3news and have had a few close calls in regards to the naughty words: winhiip and hdloader.HA.

It is VERY much like a communist society, but I do get a lot of info there. I use both here (been here way longer than ps3news) and ps3news.

PSX-Scene for Homebrew/HDL info and game compatibility.

PS3News for PS3 proxy info and the PS3 homebrew/exploit scene is starting to gather momentum.

As a user of both I can fairly say I find uses for each but here is much more laid back!
