I'm sure anybody who watches at least 10 minutes of t.v a day have seen these stupidass TRUTH, or KNOWLEDGE, or whatever they call themselves commercials. Does anybody think these things actually change anybodies minds? I mean, I hate smoking, I don't like to be around people smoking, and think that smoking is dumb and pointless...But if I ever did decide to smoke, I really don't think that some gayass kids talking about a billion people dead from smoking, or whatever they are talking about (theres so many commercials for these pointless idiots I don't know what there saying anymore) could really change my mind.
And since i'm on the subject of smoking. I don't even want to see commercials and shit like this (it ANGERS me to no END!). If people are so weak, and pathetic that they can't stop themselves from the addiction of smoking, drinking, or any other bad habits then I don't want to listen to their SHIT! If you smoke that's 1 thing, but if you smoke and cry about not being able to stop...That's when I tell you to "shut the **** up!"
Sorry for getting off track, but back to the subject...
does anybody really think these commercials do anything>?

the commercials raise awareness about what kind of shitheads run the tobacco industry....

i really dont think it'd change someone's mind to stop smoking.. mabye for people to not start, but someone that is smoking and sees that should already know whats involved with smoking or they are just dumb imo...

sorry if i offended any smokers, no offence was meant

smoking has been proven to me more addictive than cocaine and heroin.....

it seems that its easy to quit because of all those ads... but it isnt

although the widthdrawl symptoms are WAY worse with cocaine and heroin than nicotine/cigarettes... the addiction to cigarettes are just that much more..

No, I doubht they do anything for people currently smoking. I don't smoke, but these commercaisl don't annoy me. In fact, I'm glad I see them. These statistics interest me, for some reason, and I'm glad I've become smarter from watching TV. And you know it has to be the truth (no pun intended), because the Tobacco industry could sue them for false advertising. Has anyone noticed how they never outrighti nsult the industry? Dodging slander.

Yes, in fact I do. I'm a lot different from other people though, and if something is harmful, pointless, or whatever then I don't do it . You don't gain nothing from smoking, nor does it make you feel better, nor does it benefit you in anyway whatsoever.
I workout a lot and everything so have no need for it, and anything i'm stressed about I either take care of it, or use it to use up all that anger for lifting weights (something beneficial )
When I was younger though I had bad habits (that's why I was always sick). And I do know what it's like to have addictions, but once you say "I don't want this anymore!" Then it's time to quit.
Give you an example: I used to drink A LOT OF PEPSI. I drunk about a 2 liter a day, and even when I was in my moms belly she drunk nothing but pepsi. I used to get headaches if I didn't have any cafeine for a while.
So, one day i'm like, "**** THIS!" This shit isn't good, and i don't want to be addicted to anything like this.
So, what did i do about it? I STOPPED drinking pepsi completely! Of course i got headaches drinking a 2 liter a day for like 14 years, but I was so sick and tired of Pepsi that I lived with it for a week or so.
So, it sickens me to hear people say "I can't stop smoking!" It sickens me even more when they "I can stop when I want!" And they really can't...

One thing that pisses me off about these anti-drug/smoking propaganda campaigns is they stretch the truth, or they leave some of it out. I always watch closely the Anti-Marijuana ones especially. I am a former pot-head and I know what the **** it does etc etc. But, these commercials spout off some shit about a guy visiting his brothers grave and the fact that his brother was killed in his car while he was driving. (Okay sounds reasonable) But then is goes on to say "That many of these fatalaties found marijuana in the system of the "Guilty" party" They didnt come out and directly say "He was under the influence of Marijuana when his brother was killed" (Because chances are he wasnt and if he was I seriously doubt that was the culprit) But this puts in peoples minds "Oh shit, hes a pothead and hes out killing people with his vehicle" Bullshit.
I am in no way condoning using ANY substance (legal or not) when you are behind the wheel. But lets get the facts straight here people. If you want to spread the so called "Truth" then ****ing give us the whole truth assholes.
The only accident I have seen of someone under the influence of someone who was stoned, was hitting their garage door at 5 MPH because they forgot to open it.

HAHA! Yea, you make a lot of good points. Some of the stuff they say is BULLSHIT! I don't like people to smoke or anything, but I would like to hear both points of views...Which you don't hear.

    you are so right!

we should make a commercial saying:

Millions of people in the United States die everyday and 99.9% of the people that died tested positive to have eaten some kind of cereal, I guess cereal is not as harmless as we all thought!

**** we can target everybody, out of all the people that die in the world more than 70% know how to dance, I guess dancing in not as harmless as we all thought!
That's very cute (for me to poop on!) - Triumph
