A little over 2 hours, and I am already down 4000+ plus souls. I have not sworn this much in a while either. EPIC GAME!
Oh well, time to make a new file already!

no, that game is for sadists, only people who like to enjoy suffering like to play crazy games like this.
Sounds like someone is afraid of being afflicted with the 'dark sign'. Personally, I love this game, even if it is the very essence of hardcore.

I do, but I can't play the damn thing. GODDAMN 3.55, GODDAMN YOU!
I loved DeS, my knight winded through all of my NG+'s.
Nope. ... the games were you die and you have to start over from the beggining, are not really my kind of game. To me there is a difference between the game being HARD and being FRUSTRATING
@SuperSZ, then this type of game is obviously not for you. However, for many others (me included), these sorts of games are in so many ways..
At least with this game all you lose is your souls - which you can reap again. I remember losing a character suddenly playing Diablo years ago. He just happened to be wearing a very rare set of armour I got from another player online - something I risked never getting back. In that game, as long as you kept the game running, that gear would remain on your dead body and you could reclaim it by starting your character up again from scratch.
On this occasion whatever new character I sent forth to retrieve it also got slaughtered. I eventually had to farm a character for many many hours over three days before he was strong enough to retrieve that armour. So in that sense, this is a piece of cake.
There was one other obscure Wii game I remember playing years ago.. You basically had to fight your way up a huge tower with piddling weapons at your disposal and if you got killed, that was it, you lost everything and had to start again at the base of the tower. If anyone can recall the name of this game I'd be very grateful.
BTW, the save system on Dark Souls is reminiscent of another obscure Wii game; who remembers Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon? Wonder if the producers of Dark and Demon Souls have any connection with these earlier games??
Guess it's another game I need to check out.
Sounds fun.
SuperSZ,
as a child growing up in the 70's and 80's.........it was rare to have a game that just continued on and on and on.
You stuck a quarter in a machine then played the game until all of your lives were lost.
It did become popular to have a way to continue the game.
As long as you had quarters in your pocket, you could keep right on playing.
Some of the games still bug me that just let you keep on playing.
I'm still having to get used to that aspect of modern gaming.
ATLUS is behind this game, incase you guys did not know. Namco (Bandai) just localized it.
@cere br al, is this the game, or something like it? The Nightmare of Druaga: Fushigino Dungeon
@GregOu812, yeah, those arcade quatar years were glory daysI also grew up with NES/SNES/N64, etc, etc... and in that order
glory days, too!
Well I am enjoying the game a lot. My buddy who ordered it, because I told him to, is enjoying it a lot, too. On xbox, and it seems like they do not allow for voice chat. Oh well![]()
This game does little hand holding, and if you want to understand what the basic screen really means, the hud or whatever, then you need to check out a wiki or something. You die, but you learn, and you learn to kill, and it gets fun when you see other people playing it, and they interact with the world, good and bad. I am about to summon some online players to my game world to help me take on a boss, or two!!!

no, it wasn't Fushigino Dungeon and it wasn't Pandora's Tower either...
@GregOu812, I totally agree with you about the arcade comment too.. endless replays that you tend to get nowadays are a bit soft..
Is this game really that good that it deserves the rank of the top games?
