Damn daylight savings time change

For the last 2 days when I wake up my computer has been an hour behind even after I fixed it it would go back. So I had to shut off the automatic update for the time. I think this is because of the USA increasing th length of Daylight savings time ( I'm from canada). So those of you from the US When does your daylight savings kick in now, and anyone else notice this probably only if yur from canada (if I'm right).

thats what did it then because it must update from a US site, cause US and Canada were on the same cycle

Canada and the USA are on the same daylight savings time cycle. It is official that the USA will extend it's daylight hours but that won't happen for a while now. You would have heard about, it if were soon. The US also said that if there aren't substantial energy saving benefits that it would go back to the old daylight cycle. Canada is only following the US because the economies are tightly linked.

The new dates start next year. I don't remember what they are changing to, though.

Think about this for a minute. Think of how many pieces of electronics are going to be screwed because of this. What a bunch of geniuses...

thats why I thought that is what was causing this because canada isn't switching with them, but if they don't change until next year I don't understand it

Are you sure the checkbox for daylight savings time is checked? Its under the time zone tab.
