    Cryonics

i am doing a Process Analysis paper for English Class and i want your guys and lady's (dmplz) opinions on the topic(Cryonics). so here is my question...

Would you want to be Frozen in Cryogentic Status, to wake up in 10 to 50 years from now? If so Why? Do you think your memory would be wiped out or fully intacted?

with our current technology, you'll probably come back retarded or dead since the cold temperature followed by defrosting can't possibly be good for the brain

but 10 to 50 years from now we might have the technology to "thaw" someone out without causing damage.

No, definitely not...God, or *SOMETHING* made us to live and die, and i'm not going to try to defy it, and maybe make it worse. Who really wants to live forever anyways besides rich people???
To be immortal, and watch everyone you love die, to see as the world becomes more chaotic, or hell...Even worse...Wake up one day and realize that it's been 50 years, and the world is in shambles.

Wow, I guess the glass is half empty for you Primenal. The only thing I'd worry about is possibly returning to a state of consciousness while still frozen. That would totally suck, waiting for every day to pass for 50 years until someone thaws you out only to find you've driven yourself insane from the solitude and become a vegetable. Other than that it would be cool, I'd be playing my Virtual PlayStation Enigma "mind altering gaming experience system" over the virtualnet with my new mutant friends from a distant planet while resting on my HoverCloud reclining entertainment lounger. Or I'd wake up in 50 years and STILL be waiting for the PS2 HDD, who knows.

In the future we will probably have the ability to download a persons memory to a computer chip, then when we gain the ability of making human body parts, we could theoretically bring a person back to life.

Why are humans always trying to play God? I agree with Primenal. It would suck living that long unless the people you love live with you also.

We cannot acheive absolute freezing so there would still be decay, as motabolism wouldnt not have been stopped. The real problem is the freezing and thawing process, which would both have to be done in merely seconds. Hence it wont work. Plus why the hell would you want it to, we humans have no problem keeping the earth full of people, why do we need to keep people that should be dead, in order to try to keep them alive. There must be death for there to be life.

Theres to many damn people as it is...Not enough jobs. So, I actually agree with Nec (wow ) in the fact that overpopulation is where he's getting to.

It'd be nice to bring back an Einstein, or somebody of that nature, BUT keeping somebody alive who works at McDonalds is just crazy (no offense you McDonalds workers LOL).

Just like cloning...Theres to many people to begin with...Even if they could clone...WHY WOULD THEY WANT TO????
