computer issue

there are 3 invisable files on my desktop they all take up 0 bytes of space when you try to erace one you get the message "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk"

it would seem that they are not realy there yet they are how do I get rid of those?

What kind of files are these? Could they be spyware/adware?

? virus scan would indicate no but I have no idea how they got there or what they are

Can you try to rename it with explorer and see it there is an extra space or two at the end? That happened to me a couple of times and the only way I could get rid of it with RM/RMD. But a warning to you it is not for novices as it could format your drive if you are missing a command or two. Here is a site on usage of RM/RMD you can find the .exe pretty easy on the net. Link

They're probably adware or spyware. You might have to boot into pure DOS and delete them manually.

or safe mode...deleting things in DOS or safe mode is the best way to go about it...Things that pops up on desktop are usually spyware/adware so watch out...

This is what you need to do. Download HijackThis!. Run it and save a log file. Go to The Tech Guide and register. Go into the Tech Clinic forum and post your HijackThis! log with a small descriptions of your problems. A guy named guestolo should help you out in a bit. Just follow every direction he gives you step-by-step.

well none of that was helpfull but thanks anyway

its there yet its not there if you save a file with the same name it will save and there will be 2 files named the same thing when you erace ether one of them your left with the "file ghost" as I desided to start calling it if you try to erace them both also resolts in the ghost

*solution....Turn off "show hidden file"...THERE! I've done it!!!...j/k...That's the best way I know of to get rid of them...not rid but disappear...
