Aight, I know some here might consider this spam, but this is for a really worthwhile project, so that's why I'm linking it.
I'm sure many of you are familiar with the comic Penny-Arcade - it's a freaking huge gaming comic. Anyways, even if you're not, they guys over at PA are running a charity called Child's Play Charity. Basically, it lets gamers and people interested in games give something back. We all hear how games create violent anti-social monsters who go on killing sprees, and it's all due to little Billy playing the latest Grand Theft Auto. Well, let's prove the media pundits like Jack Thompson wrong.
Child's Play is set up so you can donate games or cash which will then directly go to hospitals all over the US and all over the world. Imagine the look on a kids face, after he's been in a hospital bed for the last 2 months fighting some god knows what illness and he gets a chance to play the latest PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, whatever game. Just something to take his mind of his own mortality for a little bit.
Anyways, enough of the damn heartstring tugging - just think about donating. This is the third year running and each year so far has been a huge success.
