Two Kern County men are facing hefty lawsuits from filmmakers for allegedly downloading and sharing movies on online movie distribution Web sites.
Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. and Paramount Pictures Corporation filed suit Tuesday against Refugio Verdugo of Bakersfield and Clay Hoggard of Ridgecrestafter the companies tracked them down through Internet sites that allow people to share copies of movies for free.
