how does it not allowing you....maybe it's your system that is causing your burner to slow down....
i thought so too, but when i installed the new burner everything works fine. so i came to believe that the burner is worn out. it starts burning but it always skips tracks when it is done . if you turn the disc over you see tracks are skipped and the errors in the copying process.
It is not worth the time unfortunatelly. You can get burners for some 50 usd then what would you expect ? Spending half of a week on that to repair is not the way how economics go these days. Cleaning, adjusting the laser (which is not the easiest thing) takes time plus probably some money. Buying a new one with at least one year warranty costs less money, and here we go. What brand that burner is ? I am almost sure these days products like that are made to survive the warranty period and force you to buy a new one after that... as said it is sad, but you or me cannot do that much against it.

I guess it's really f*ck up then...too bad....I went thru a similar thing in the past...sometime, I just can't believe they died out on me like that...
yeah its about done. i think it made to many backups like 1000 to much hahahaha
Lifetime of laser diodes is not that high, so with 1000 backups (though it depends on the manufacturer) it probably reached the end of the road.

or if you own an ACER burner, 50 backups :P
how long will an nec 2510a last?
