    you have to use a company that can reroute a dns to your system like dns2go but they now charge for there services.
    i am in the same boat myself m8 cos i am now looking for a free dns company as i have 120 gig online to share...baz

    just get a different server.... like serv-u, raidenftp, glftpd, g6 ftp server etc.....

    naa the server software he is using will be ok its the dns rerouter he needs try someone like ODS connect.
    try this site as its free and you download their software and register after that it will re route all traffic to his ip address

    do u have ods connector? how did u set it up? i sset mine up and it says its up and running but how do i use this with my ftp?

    Like Balto already explained, you need an actual router, not just ICS through a computer. It just doesn't have the functionality to do port forwarding, demilitarized zones, etc. Just bite the bullet and buy a router. You can get a cheap 4 port cable/dsl router for $50, and save you a ton of headaches. Or, you can call your ISP and find out how much an additional IP address would be, but that will probably cost you $5-10 extra a month.
