Got a Athlon 2600 and my comp sees it as a 2000. Ive run the AMD CPU ID programm and it confirms it as a 2000. It came in retail box sealed as a 2600 so I know I didnt get burned. In the bios there isnt a multiplier so I cant even fiddle with it seeing if its just underset. The bus is at 133mhz, and wont let me take it to 166mhz like it should, max of 165. Im running with DDR3200 at 400mhz , which the mobo can handle, so it should run at 333mhz with the cpu. But when I take up the bus speed it freezes at the bios splash screen and does not continue to load windows. Now what am I to do, Id like to get my 400mhz back out of this thing.

Yes, its a syntax SV400. Supports 333mhz, came as a combo with the cpu. supports 400mhz DDR.

Apperently it does not support overclocking at all, which for some reason they consider running at its actual speed as overclocking. WTF i say.

check the 100mhz/133mhz FSB jumper on your motherboard.

make sure it is at the 133 position

Make sure both jumper JP8 and JP9 are shorted at pin 2-3 for 166 FSB.

    Yep, works now.

Only problem is it doesnt like it. It is very slowm the bios and dos even lag and it takes like 10 mins to turn on. It shuts itself off, and the mouse will stop moving. I monitored the systems temperature yet it is quite low.
