Anyone know if the Messiah 4 XBOX is any good ??

Because i have managed to find someone who can supply me with some messiah-X chips and i wanted to know if anyone knew, With this chip will i be able to Add Evolution X and then Inplement Mame onto my HDD ??

Just wondering, i might wanna upgrade the Hard Disk at a later date but i don't mind running off disks

So could someone please tell me if this chip is gonna be suitable for what i want it for ??, (mostly Mame and the Mediaplayer really)

i heard the x-ecuter (2 ?) is the best xbox mod, but i dont know anything 'bout xbox.

Yeah MX was discontinued awhile ago, I can't recall if it supports the HD upgrade (gotta have that) it was a good chip, I'm on my laptop I have the features chart at home on the pc so I'll look, also it is old and not sure if it supports the V1.1 xboxes, do you know what version you have V1 or V1.1, if you go to the info screen onthe xbox and scroll al the way down it will list your "kernel" version (like 4073.1) that will tell you for sure what V you have, my Version/kernel chart is on my pc as well , I'll look later...I don't think its flashable though and that is about the most imortant feature, as all the other "features" depend on what you bios you have flashed on the chip...

I can get hold of Messiah-X chips even if they have been discontinued, I believe that i gotta V.1.0 coz my kernel is :4034, not got the XBox with me tho' at the mo' but i'm pretty sure its a V.1 mate,

WHY is Flashing the Bios the most important feature ??
Also is there a way that i can flash THE ORIGINAL Bios instead, if my chip hasn't got a Bios ?? also is this dangerous do you know ??, Even if i backup my Original Bios onto my PC first, for future refrence ?

Anyways basicly like i said before i want a mod for the XBox thats gonna be a Good, Reliable Chip and Messiah has NOT done any harm to my PS2, also its a quality chip, is this the case with the Box ??

Mostly i want it for Mame and Other Homebrew stuff i want Mame on the HD, with some classics, but otherwise i don't mind running stuff off Disks, But a HDD upgrade would be nice, although money-wise i am Far out of reach of buying a new HDD at the mo' so that don't bother me

To Finish, if someone could please verify that the Messiah-X will let me run Evo-X onto the HDD, and then Install Mame (with some roms)?

By the Way the mods will be costing me £15 (around $10)each including Insured delivery, so would this work for me plz ??

The MessiahX was a good chip when it was made, they just started the flashable feature on chips after it came out (it was an early chip), it does however allow flashing of the Xboxes on board bios with whatever bios you want but this is kind of risky because if anything goes wrong while flashing the xboxes onboard bios you will have a non booting xbox (you would have to get a LPC mod then to boot your xbox, since these overtake and replace the onboard bios)
A couple of the advantages of having a flashable mod is in case M$ comes up with some kind of game protection someone will come up with a new bios that works, plus different features can be added to future bios's.
That being said the MessiahX lets you install Evox and emulators and all that good stuff and is okay, esspecially at that price, and you can always upgrade to a new one later on if you want

Thats what i wanted to know M8, now that i know that flashing the console Bios can be done but with a bit of a Risk i thought i'll spend the Extra bit of Cash and go for an X-ecuter2 Lite as thats already Flashed, and it has a Dual Bios just in case(so am i right in thinking with this i can keep the X2 bios but still keep the original .XBE file too ??)

Anyways i have ordered it so i'll let ya know how i get on Matie Cheers and also Cheers to Entity and SniperKilla for there Reccomendations
