Anybody with Kazaa experience

Hey

i want to share a file in Kazaa. I have placed on the My Shared Folder that Kazaa creates by default when it installed.

Problem is that i told a friend to look up the names of the files i wanted to share, and he did not find them.

Do i need to do something else to share files???

If it is any help i have Kazaa 2.0.2

you may have disabled sharing of files. uncheck it and tell your friend to search for it again.

just checked after the reply from gokuguy, and the sharing of files is not disabled.

then use kazaa lite. http://doa2.host.sk if all else fails then burn the file to cd and give it to him!!!

I want to download a file from a friend of mine, but I can't seem to find it.

When you are connected to the network that is used by Kazaa, you are connected to only one Supernode. When you do a search, it will only search through the list of files from the people that are connected to the same Supernode. There are however many Supernodes (thousands?) all over the world. So the chance you and your friend are connected to the same piece of the network is very small.

You can both use the KaZupernodes program to be able to connected to the same Supernode. That should make it more easy to find each others files.

If you want to exchange files, there are much better ways. Most Instant Message Programs (MSN,ICQ,etc.) have to ability to send/receive files. Another good way is IRC or FTP, but that requires some more computer experience.

Ugh... when will people learn that Kazaa is a piece of shit software.

As it says in someone's sig... if people stop buying crap, crap will stop being made. Minus the buying part, that applies here...

If you're going to ask whats a better program for a 10 year old, then dont bother. Go buy CDs and Movies, or tape a TV show instead of downloading a clip until you can understand how to use a computer well enough to know how to get things.

For the sanity of non-childish internet users.

you can jump supernodes, get kazaa light and tell your friend to jump to the same supernode as you.
