hehehe....I know. Try doing this shit all day.......
I just keep the cover off the case and set a small box beside it and stack the drives on top of it. Once I find the drive arrangement that works, then I put them in the case and screw them down.
My home system has 3 optical drives and 2 hard drives, and I am constantly dropping in someone's failing drive for diagnostics or imaging or something too tedious to do on the dinosaur I have at work. I'm going to have to break down and get one of those swappable bays one of these days......
Hate to be such a pain about it. I've just heard the speech over and over again trying to get an RMA. "Did you do this.....Try that...." BLAH BLAH BLAH! It makes it a lot easier when you can say " I followed the manual to the letter and installed it by itself as CS and Master and it won't work". They can't argue much with that!
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it! But, hell if you can tweak that bastard just a little bit more....hehehe.
